Michelle Breslauer- Director, Americas Program, Institute for Economics and Peace
Michelle Breslauer manages the strategic partnerships and programs of the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), a global think thank that uses data to understand and communicate the drivers of peace.
Michelle has had leadership role in the execution of the strategic communication of IEP’s internationally recognized research and education products, as well as its public programs, from the initial start-up phase. Over this period, IEP has grown from five to 25 staff, has been recognized as one of the most impactful think tanks globally with a budget under $5 million, and developed a position as a recognized thought leader in the intersection of peace and sustainable development. Michelle runs IEP’s US office and led the expansion of IEP’s Americas program into Mexico.
Prior, Michelle was senior manager of public affairs and communications at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center during its critical development phase and was responsible for developing and executing its public affairs strategy. She holds a master’s degree in urban studies from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the American University of Paris.
